Okay. I do NOT get why most Avril fans hate Bad Girl... Like. No. I wish literally anyone other than Marilyn Manson was featured on the song. He's a freak (that's probably why they chose him tbh because this is a song for freaky chicks) and a creepy piece of shit. But... This song IS for the freaky girls. So... That's why I like it. For any of you girlies who embrace your sexuality and own it. All your fantasies and daddy kinks, it's a hot song. But Marilyn Manson sucks. I've always hated him. But other than that, I love love love the song. I love super sexual songs like this and Kinky by Kesha.

i didnt like this EP.. only song i think is good is the art of being alone. It was too autotuned couldnt really hear the words. Shadow works is way better where more of her voice is heard and it doesnt sound too dark ironically

I really enjoyed your interpretation, very interesting. In My Body is Not Mine (which is my favourite), I also interpret it as commentary on AI stealing from artists and creating a “body” which is no longer the artist’s art. In that sense, AI steals the artists’ art (body) but can never achieve the true emotions coming from real art (the heart). You feel the disassociation and despair of artists when they look at an “AI artwork” and see their own body of work which no longer belongs to them.

Sorry man but I'm hate Take Me To Your Heaven - its a souless Waterloo rip off without the good bits which is lyrically trite. IMO its the contest's worst winner ever also thank you for giving me ammunition to say it might have won because of Waterloo's 25th anniversary. Although I've gotta say I've warmed to Charlotte a bit despite her face now entirely consisting of Botox - she's got potential as a presenter and was always a good performer.

The Netherlands wouldn't have hurt Israel's televote because the people voting from Israel wouldn't have voted for anyone else. It would have hurt Croatia's. If Israel were behind it and while they were cheering because of Joost's DQ - they were idiots.

The diffference is Israel came second in the semi and did so well last year because it was well staged, well sung and was a good bop with a great dance break. This year it was orchestrated...end of.

It's a biting satire show, and even though the topic dealt with the same 4 singers who, to put it mildly, did not show sympathy for Aden Golan, the content of the satirical piece was completely different and dealt with mocking Defense Minister Yoav Galant for his political approach that "every problem has a military solution".

We in the Netherlands believe they had a big influence in the EBU silence regarding all the complaints about the Israelian delegation and journalists. The EBU should do well to reconsider their sponsorships, otherwise we're afraid this censorship will continue. Or get even worse. And be sure that the Netherlands won't participate anymore!

Ukraine has had its citizens scattered all over Europe, which gives them an advantage (they will have high public votes for years to come). It has been that way since the beginning where neighbours reward each other. There are large Jewish communities throughout Europe too and along with a massive advertising campaign by Israel ensured a strong public vote. Switzerland was the best overall package, fantastic staging, song & performance. The juries rightfully rewarded it. I don't think it should be a purely public vote because then it will about who wants to buy a winner. Musically has been the best year.

Okay, I've watched the whole thing. You're probably the first American that I see review Eurovision without just goin "Oh, this was a Britney clone" "This was an [insert American artist] clone". So kudos to that. And I also respect how you navigate the Israeli elephant in the room. Much respect. That being said, here are some of my thoughts: The Voyager song was incredibly orignal, the music was very technical and complex and the performance was underwhelming. But they definitely deserved to be in the finale. I think you're missing some European context when it comes to Finland and Austria. For many European milennials, this is nostalgia. This also extends to Joost Klein's song. That one by the way, is also Dutch folk music. Folk music doesn't have to be traditional like Armenia's. Gabber has been a subculture here since the 90's and has put its stamp on our culture as a whole. So this is a form of modern culturally significant music, which I guess would make it folk. Speaking of Joost, I think the statement from AVROTros was premature, saying the incident was "nothing". I think the judge will decide if it was nothing or not. But what most people (here in the Netherlands at least) are pissed off about, is that he was disqualified before it was fully investigated. If it actually turns out that it was indeed "nothing" then he won't be able to perform on that stage after all. If it turns out he was in the wrong, they could have disqualified him after the fact though. If they deemed it inappropriate to have him perform on Saturday, they could have shown his performance from Thursday instead and not have him be in the green room. All that being said, I feel terrible for the employee that filed the complaint. We don't know the situation, but she is either swimming in regret right now, or genuinely felt attacked and now sees all the support for Joost out there. Neither feeling is particularly great. And if her name ever comes out, her life will be ruined. On the UK: 0 points is what happens when you send an established international artist. Expectations are high and if you don't deliver your magnum opus, everyone will be disappointed. Adding to that, Finland, Austria and the Netherlands all gave nudges to the 90's and early 2000's in a fresh new coat. Olly Alexander didn't nudge to the 80's, he tried to recreate the stereotypical gay scene from back then and it felt like a been there done that moment for many people. That didn't help either. The staging was great though I really liked that. On Israel's jury points: The reaction from the crowd is obviously going to influence jury votes and is a legitimate factor. Also the song felt like it had been done a thousand times before, but this time with controversy. What I think the EBU needs to do to fix things: Get a new main sponsor or better yet make all sponsors equal. I have no idea what kind of money Morroccanoil contributes, but I'm sure there are other companies that can and want to help. But only if the EBU changes some other things too. Ban Azerbaijan and Israel from competing for the time being and then revise the rules about this so that it is set in stone when to ban countries for geopolitical reasons. And work with the former artists to create a more safe environment for future artists. The Dutch broadcaster had filed complaints about an unsafe environment two years ago as well. And I'm sure there have been more. The artists need time to decompress and be themselves every now and then, without interviewers lining up outside their dressing rooms or people shoving phones and cameras in their faces when that is not wanted. They all know that they are signing up for a stressful week, but let's give them some breathing space. They could mandate certain hours in the press room, where journalists can ask them stuff. And they should probably ban phones from the contestant bubble. Last but not least I have two points of critique: Romania isn't competing anymore because their broadcaster simply cannot pay for it anymore. I'm not sure how you suppose this country and others like it will be able to return to the fold. I'm all for a collective "pot" from the richer countries for the less prosperous countries to take from, but all these right wing governments make it hard enough to even fund our own public broadcasters properly. So there's a lot to be fixed. I'm afraid. Sorry for the wall of text. I feel like I should start my own RUclips channel to vent all these thoughts but I also don't think I actually should. Very good analysis, although I find interesting how little Eurovision fans know about Cyprus in general. I guess this could be an additional reason to why we couldn't win back in 2018, we just don't have enough popularity in the competition. Also, I find it interesting that if Netherlands was not DQ the televote would've been even more split, leaving Israel to probably take 1st place in televote. Additionally if Slimane didn't have that croak in the jury night, the jury vote would've been even more split between Switzerland and France, which again could've let another country take the win.

And has also been bullied by transphobes/homophobes (wait til they find out other competitors and winners in Eurovision's lengthy history are of the LGBT and this has been going on since the 80's) And not only was Bambie Thug relentlessly harassed by the Israeli delegation but also by the press, by Israel's broadcasting channel that were shoeing Eurovision in Israel, by people who stand by Israel or are just also transphobic (because they were misgendering them and using she/her pronouns the entire time because sadly theres hateful people who even bother watching Eurovision then get angry when stuff like this happens) and also by paranoid people calling their performance 'satanic' (Bambie Thug has stated thst they're pagan and influence lots of their practice in witchcraft and their religion in their art, music, and fashion. Paganism and Satanism arent the same thing either) and people who stand for Israel continue to relentlessly bully them and call them a 'terror1st' just for calling out ESC and EBU's decision to add Israel into the contest and communicating their disappointment and anger in such a calm way.

You are absolutely right. The average person did not notice that there was anything wrong with their annual TV show. Because that is all it is, it's a TV show. All the rest is a tiny percentage of 'experts' complaining and enjoying the storm they are creating. Netherlands wants to withdraw - so let them withdraw. Denmark withdrew for years, Italy too, Luxembourg was gone for over 30 years. They'll be back if they are actually making money from organising the televote. Because again it's a TV show and money is the bottom line. Actually all the delegations and performers who were so scandalised by the EBU decision to allow Israel participate should have had the courage of their convictions and should have left the contest early on. Standing down and not going to Malmö would have been an honourable thing to do. Staying was selfish and then complaining about Israel was as much responsible for the apparently toxic atmosphere as anything else. Bambie Thug is the worst example of this.

With Joost, the press conference was ater his incident, and i think you can hear some agreeing softly in the back with his "why not" I feel like the incident, if true, was more out of panic, stess response, and not meant to be hatefull, but it is not known public. An theory is that the DQ came so easily because they wanted to use Joost as an distraciton form the delegation issues. It is now also known that multiple countries filed official complaints about the delegation of Israel, inculding NL, before the DQ happened. Some countries also still want the EBU to be more clear about multiple things, the EBU is very secretive in general the last years.
